Silver Moon® Spelling Rules is an Orton Gillingham influenced supplementary spelling program designed to support struggling spellers while benefiting learners of all ability levels. Set 3 instructor’s manual is intended to be used by one instructor and one student.

Set 3 includes 3 pieces that are shipped directly to the buyer. The instructor’s manual contains: 11 lightly scripted lesson plans, 11 optional but highly recommended mini-lessons, 22 independent practice pages, 3 pretests and 3 posttests, extension activities, and “Tips and Tricks” to support student learning differences.

Set 3 also includes one student sized set of cards and one instructor sized set of cards. Each spelling card corresponds to one lesson in the manual. The front of the cards contain a witty mnemonic based spelling rule and image that contains hidden picture clues. Cards are formatted similarly to flash cards and contain the rule’s image and definition on the back side. As an added bonus, set 3 includes cards for each of the 7 syllable types.

Starting age is recommended. Not all students age 6 will be ready for this program. Conversely, some instructors use Silver Moon with students as young as 5 years old. Silver Moon is not a grade leveled program.

As you progress through lessons, students will begin to understand how to spell. Silver Moon brings spelling to life through the use of charming characters, witty images, and logical rules.
